Worth the money
Today, I received my first issue of Hobby Farms, and I am very pleased with the magazine. Although I currently live in suburbia, I make the most of my yard by gardening year-round, am motivated to become more self-efficient and make the move to a rural community in the not so distant future. For now, I am reading up on possible business ideas for a small hobby farm (game birds, animals for fiber, orchards, etc.), which I hope this magazine will have articles on in future issues. Although the magazine does have quite a bit of advertisements throughout, I read through them anyway because it is all new to me. I like the fact that there are recipes from the season's harvest, reader's pages & photos, and ideas for people who have hobby farms for pleasure as well as primary source of income. There is something to be learned from all of that. My hope is that this magazine will increase to a monthly publication in the future.
