Cook's is probably the best cooking magazine out there. The Kindle version was awful so I had to switch back to print.

Overall OK
Their equipment reviews have to be taken a little more circumspectly. In a number of cases they are simply wrong. The reviewer of carbon steel knives did not appear to know that chefs favor them because they taken edge not because they hold it, sharpening stainless steel knives is rather laborious, not so with carbon steel. In another review they did not seem to know that copper pots work perfectly well without polishing them which was on of their major criticisms
Cooking As a Science
I've been reading this for years, at least ten. The recipes are always amazing, though not what I would call simple. (But the best things never are.)
To me, the best part is reading the why behind each step. They conduct experiments in the kitchen and then tell you what happened to each attempt. For my engineering/non-artistic mind, this is perfect.
Great magazine for those who like to cook
Opening Cook's Illustrated is like taking a step into cooking school. The information and techniques I've learned have boosted my cooking to a whole new level.
Useful up to a point
I would have liked to have seen more pictures to show what the recipe is supposed to look like at the end.

Best all round cookbook
Excellent mag with clear, practical, EXECUTABLE recipes that have been tested to avoid the usual pitfalls associated with many popular dishes. Outstanding illustrations and helpful product (tools and/or ingredients) recommendations. A big help for both novice and experienced cooks.
This magazine is a must for those who want to learn how to cook!
This magazine has made me a better cook all around. The problem solving that happens in this magazine carries over to other recipes! The use of everyday ingredients are so appreciated. I have given this magazine as a wedding gift so many times.
